Who We Are
New Hampshire has developed a training and technical assistance center for NH school districts to support the utilization of the NH Medicaid to Schools Program. Working in collaboration with the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services Offices of Medicaid and Department of Education along with local and national experts, the NH Charitable Foundation funded JSI Research and Training Institute to provide the most up-to-date and helpful information to schools.
NH Medicaid – NH Medicaid is a federal and state-funded health care program that serves a wide range of individuals and families who meet certain eligibility requirements. The program works to ensure that eligible adults and children have access to needed health care services by enrolling and paying providers to deliver covered services to eligible recipients.
NH Department of Education –The New Hampshire Department of Education is committed to helping students, parents, and educators (including teachers, principals, superintendents, and school communities) meet the educational needs of each student.
NH Charitable Foundation – The New Hampshire Charitable Foundation is New Hampshire’s statewide community foundation, founded in 1962 by and for the people of New Hampshire.
NH Schools and Third Party Billers – Currently, 174 School Administrative Units (SAUs) are enrolled in the NH Medicaid to Schools Program. They either bill directly or through third-party billers which are organizations that will bill on their behalf. The NH Medicaid to Schools Training and Technical Assistance Center gathers input from both schools and third-party billers and works collaboratively with them to better address schools’ needs.
Healthy Students Promising Futures – Healthy Students, Promising Futures supports states and school districts in leveraging Medicaid funding to meet the health needs of students. This initiative is led by the Healthy Schools Campaign (HSC). A team from New Hampshire participates in its Learning Collaborative, which offers peer-to-peer learning, technical assistance and guidance to states.
JSI Research and Training Institute – JSI is a public health consulting organization based in Boston, MA with locations across the US and the world. Our Bow, NH office, also known locally as the Community Health Institute (CHI), has expertise with technical assistance in best practice implementation, systems change, quality improvement, data and reporting, training and other related efforts.
Together, we will work to support NH schools’ implementation of the Medicaid to Schools Program so that they have the resources they need to serve their students, families, and communities. For more information about our partners and this center, please feel free to contact us.
